For nearly thirty years Gabriel Ben-Dashan was one of Bein & Fushi’s greatest resources. Now he brings his passion for stringed instruments and bows to his position as owner and executive director. Gabriel is also a professional violinist with an intense interest in and lifelong fascination with the great stringed instrument and bow makers. When Gabriel started with the firm he came with his great ability to match artist and instrument and his extensive violin and bow expertise. Robert Bein increasingly relied on his judgment on acquisitions over the years as Gabriel developed a major international acquisitions network. Robert had the utmost trust and confidence in Gabriel to know just what instruments and bows were needed and to act on that knowledge.

Gabriel caught the attention of Robert Bein with his stunning acquisition of the exquisite “Wieniawski” Guarneri del Gesù of 1742. With the “Wieniawski” in hand, Gabriel met Robert via a recommendation from the prominent British dealer Charles Beare. The timing could not have been better, and shortly afterward Geoffrey and Robert brought Gabriel and his wife, Paige, into the company as a team to run their office together.

As a violinist Gabriel has toured with Philharmonia Hungarica conducted by Yehudi Menuhin. He has performed with the Downeast Chamber Orchestra as principal and soloist, been winner and soloist of the Binghamton Symphony Concerto Competition, performed with the Ravinia Festival Orchestra, City Musick, Symphony II, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, as well as Frank Sinatra’s midwest orchestra. He attended the Manhattan School of Music and Indiana University where he studied with Ramy Shevalov, Burton Kaplan, James Buswell III, Yuval Yaron, and Henryk Kowalski.
