A superb violin bow by DOMINIQUE PECCATTE (1810-1874)

This superb violin bow by Dominique Peccatte of Paris bears the faint brand of the maker.

The round shaft is made of dark reddish brown pernambuco. The frog, of later origin, is ebony with silver mounts and has plain pearl eyes. The button, of later origin, is silver divided by ebony and has a pearl end eye. The wrapping is silverwire and the headplate is ivory.

The bow is a characteristic example of the maker’s work and is in good condition.
